Estonia moves towards broader adoption of B2B e-invoicing
The Estonian Ministry of Finance has recently published a draft law aimed at encouraging and expanding the use of e-invoices in B2B transactions.
Timeline
The draft law is anticipated to come into force on January 1, 2025.
Impact
According to the proposed changes to the Accounting Law, businesses that register as recipients of e-invoices will be able to request e-invoices following the European Standard for e-invoicing (EN 16931) from their suppliers for the payment of the goods and services purchased.
The draft law is currently under discussion and must undergo the legislative process before being enacted.
