US Sales Tax Rate Updates for April 2025

The following state, county, municipal and district taxes are set to change effective April 1, 2025. The rate changes below will be automatically reflected in the Fonoa tax engine.

Alaska

The general retail sales tax rate is now 6% in the City of Scammon Bay. The City of Craig, the City of Seldovia, the City of Ketchikan, the Municipality of Skagway, and the City and Borough of Sitka have implemented seasonal general retail sales tax rates, which changed in April 2025. Arizona

The retail sales tax rate has increased to 2.95% in Prescott.

Arkansas

There have been sales tax rate changes in several cities and counties in Arkansas. Please find the details here.

California

California has published the sales tax rates effective April 1, 2025. For detailed information on the new sales tax rates effective April 1, 2025, you can refer to the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration's (CDTFA) official documentation.

Georgia

County sales tax rates have changed in Crawford, Glynn, Irwin, McIntosh, Pulaski, Stewart, and Telfair Counties. Additional information on sales tax rates is available here.

Kansas

There have been several sales tax rate changes at the district, city, and county levels in Kansas.

Louisiana

Sales and use tax rates have changed in East Baton Rouge Parish, Lafayette Parish, Morehouse Parish, St. Mary Parish, Tangipahoa Parish, and Vermilion Parish.

Minnessota

Several cities and counties have changed their sales and use tax rates in Minnesota.

Missouri

  • Sales tax rates have changed in many counties and cities in Missouri.
  • The City of Bismarck has increased its city sales, use, and gross receipts tax by 0.5%.
  • The City of Fargo has increased its sales, use, and gross receipts tax by 2.25%.
  • The City of Hillsboro has increased its city sales, use, and gross receipts tax by 0.5%.
  • The City of LaMoure has increased its city sales, use, and gross receipts tax by 1%.
  • Morton County has increased its sales, use, and gross receipts tax by 0.5%.
  • The City of Park River has increased its city sales, use, and gross receipts tax by 0.5%.

The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) has enacted a permanent 0.5% sales tax rate increase for all of Franklin County and those limited areas of Fairfield, Union, Licking, and Delaware Counties within the COTA district. More details on the increase are published here.
