US Sales Tax Rate Updates for July 2024

The following state, county, municipal and district taxes are set to change effective July 1, 2024.

The rate changes below will be automatically reflected in the Fonoa tax engine.

Arkansas

The recent changes for local sales and use tax rates in Arkansas, effective July 1, 2024, are listed in detail here.

California

California approved several district sales and use tax changes, which will apply as of July 1, 2024. Please find the changes listed in detail here.

Colorado

The state, city, municipal, and district sales and use tax rate changes in Colorado, effective July 1, 2024, are listed in detail here.

Georgia

The county tax rate changes effective as of July 1, 2024, are listed here.

Illinois

Effective July 1, 2024, several taxing jurisdictions have imposed a local sales tax or changed their local sales tax rate. The details are listed here.

Kansas

Kansas's sales and use tax rate will change slightly as of July 1, 2024. Please see the details here.

Louisiana

As of July 1, 2024, the sales tax rate will increase by 0.25% in all 10 jurisdictions of Iberia Parish and by 0.75% on transactions in the rural areas of Iberia Parish. District rate of sales tax will increase by 0.25% in Pointe Coupee Parish, Richland Parish, and West Baton Rouge Parish. In Morehouse Parish, in Bonita, the sales and use tax rate will increase by 0.5% and decrease in Mer Rouge by 2%. In Rapides Parish, in the Town of Cheneyville, the sales and use tax rate will increase by 1.25%.

Minnesota

Starting July 1, 2024, Beltrami County will have 0.625% sales and use tax.

New Mexico

North Dakota

Effective July 1, 2024, the city sales, use, and gross receipts tax will be increased by 0.5% in Mapleton and 1% in Rolla. The details are listed here.

Ohio

The sales and use tax rate for Lake County will decrease from 7.25 % to 7.00 % effective July 1, 2024.

Oklahoma

Effective July 1, 2024, Canton will increase its sales and use tax rate by 1%, Inola by 1.5%, Perkins by 0.5%, Wynnewood by 0.5%, and Kiowa County by 1.5%.

Texas

As of July 1, 2024, Aurora Municipal Development District imposed a 0.5% local sales and use tax. In addition, several combined areas have been created to administer the local sales and use tax between overlapping local jurisdictions. The details are listed here.

Washington

Effective July 1, 2024, sales and use tax in Mason County, Pacific County, and the City of Snoqualmie will increase by one-tenth of one percent (.001).

West Virginia

Effective July 1, 2024, the municipalities of Richwood and Westover impose a 1% local sales and use tax on top of the 6% state tax.
